The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that each child visit a dentist by age one. These infant dental exams are an important part of establishing a lifetime of preventive and routine oral health care for your child. These early care dental exams may include things such as:

  • Dietary counseling
  • Caries risk assessment
  • Toothbrush prophylaxis
  • Comprehensive dental exam
  • Fluoride varnish application
  • Plan for acute dental trauma
  • Anticipatory guidance regarding growth and development
